Hello i went down to Cex today and before buying a 2nd hand copy of battlefield bad company 2 i asked the guy over the counter if i am going to get an un used serial for online play, he said yes. I got the game got home today went on multiplayer and it says cd key already linked to an account. I tried contacting ea support any other ideas?

I could take it back but from what i read they dont take back games if there is nothing wrong with them. Also dont shops buy PC games that use serials that can only be used once?

As has been said, try contacting EA, if no joy there, take it back.
tbh though, i thnk EA went easy on me, as i'd already purchased the vip codes for Xbox, so they gave me multiplayer and VIP codes and Vietnam, as i had already paid for them for xbox.
Actually i didn't phone them. i used the livechat on EA website, gave them the code taht didn't work, which was still registered to someone else, and a few minutes later, they gave me new codes.

Because it's impossible to verify that a code is not used?
And why would Cex care, they are making a profit on the item otherwise they wouldn't sell it.
i did. before they gave me a code, i had to give them the one that didn't work, they saw that it was still registered to someone else, then emailed me a new one.
Had to try it a few times as well, the first 2 i spoke to, said there was nothing they could do, but then the last one gave me the code even though i gave him exactly the same info.
