There's much much more in the interview covering a wide variety of things, including potential plans and ideas for the Wii U platform, but for the Bad Company fans (and there are a lot of them out there, myself included), the prospect and real possibility of a third one after BF3 is done and dusted is salivating and immense. Bad Company 2 is a great game which I feel people aren't too comfortable admitting that they like.
GC: That's good to hear, but where do the numbered sequels sit with the other spin-offs, particularly Bad Company? Are you possibly thinking of alternating those every few years, something like the different Treyarch and Infinity Ward made Call Of Duty games?
PL: I would say our plans are a lot more freeform than that. We haven't killed the Bad Company franchise so to speak. It's still alive and kicking somewhere, we like the characters ourselves but we don't have any plans right now… we'll see what happens next... we'll see. Again though we're only so big of a studio, we have a number of projects going on but we can only make like one big title at a time.
GC: We've played a lot of the multiplayer in Battlefield 3 at various events this year, but very little of the single-player - which is a little worrying as that's never been the series' forte. It's also never been important to PC users, but how do you think console gamers are going to respond to Battlefield 3's story campaign? How much have you stepped up your game this time, in that respect?
PL: We've done a lot of things in the Bad Company series, learning how to make a single-player campaign. But this time the tone and the atmosphere is different, in terms of what kind of characters you're playing, how the storyline plays out. It's a lot more authentic and physical experience, while the Bad Company experience was more humour-istic and light-hearted.
At the same time I'd say that the people working on the game are light-hearted people, most of them. So it's not like dead serious, there's a touch of DICE in there still.
