I have been having problems with my new system pretty much since day one. Specs are
HIS x1950 pro
E6600
Asus p5b
2 gig ocz ram
Corsair 520 Watt psu
Vista x64
The problem is often when I boot up, especially if the system has been off for a while the screen will go blank then come back and I will get a message from the task bar saying `display driver Ati..... has stopped responding but has recovered`
Sometimes that will be the end of it, other times it will it continue unit i shut down and restart. Also recently on a few occasions before the screen goes blank I will get lots of screen corruption like colored static interference all over the screen before it shuts down.
The strange thing is once it is up and running every thing is fine, I can can play games for hours without a problem, if there is going to be a problem it is always just after booting up.
I think I have ruled out driver problems because it has been the same with 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 all with a fresh install of windows.
I have seen other threads with people having similar problems with this card and it seems that it comes down to bad psu or bad card. I dont want to go to all the hassle and expense of RMA'ing the wrong part so any opinions are welcome.
