Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orelans

Been waiting for this film to come out for a while now and went along to see it on the Friday night on release and have to say it was awesome

Nic Cage was at his best(yes that wouldn't be hard with some of his latest) and the film flowed brilliantly due to a good story line and great supporting cast throughout.

One of the better films of the year so far IMO

I saw the trailer for this and it looked like a comedy. The original Bad Lieutenant was on last night, great film, I can't imagine the new one is much cop.

This one was alright, it's not really a remake of the original, rather, it's a completely different film aside from having similar main characters.

The Ferrara/Keitel version is a superb film, this one was watchable and was Cage's best film in years, but to compare both films is pointless.

Apparently Herzog hadn't even heard of the original and it was the studio that tagged on the 'Bad Lieutenant' name in the hopes of turning it into a franchise as Ferrara sold the rights to Bad Lieutenant years ago, the name at least, I'm not sure about the original film.
