Hi
So I started putting together another PC and it will be water cooled as well. To save some money I was looking for ebay offers and what I can get at a fracture of the price.
So here I am I purchased alphacool 360 rad which was claimed to be new, opened but not used. It looks like it was sitting in the drawer for quite a while. It is a copper radiator and all of the paint came off :)
Looks copper brown now.

It does not leak so tempted to use it but it just looks horrible. Can I paint it? What with? Links appreciated :)

I got lucky with EK-CoolStream CE 280 Dual Radiator and got it "new" for £25. so it can be a lottery.

Still... any thoughts on the above?

Doesn't look like that one's ever had the fins painted in the first place, although the frame looks a bit tatty. Might just be the pic.
Some rad companies do them like this. AquaComputer do ones with no paint on whatsoever.

That's totally normal for Alphacool. Will it not be covered with fans anyway? A light misting of black paint won't kill the thermals if you really mind it.

That's original and fine at least it's copper I actually like it like that, however, all you need it black metal paint, hamemertite or something used for engines bays in black that can stand temps... anything really, dirt cheap tin fro 3 quidk and spray. However, if mine looked like that by the time the fans on you won't see it and tbh I think it looks cool i.e. copper

I spray mine with ScrewFix brand simple paint.

Nice and Matt, sticks beautifully. I revamp all my second hand rads this way.

We're I you, I'd work on getting your posts up so you can buy off the MM. I'd never use eBay for watercooling parts.

If it's just the fins though, I'd leave it. Looks fine.

Thanks a lot for the replies, fans will be pushing air in so the radiator will be visible inside of the case.

I purchased one paint off screwfix and one cheap off amazon :) will update on the results when it gets delivered.
