Bad ping to uk ?

well have eircom broadband 2 mb but all games have decent ping when i play online all bellow 50 ms.

today and yesterday i noticed in all uk servers i get 160 ping and in irish ones i still get bellow 40 what my be cause of the problem ?

edit: im not expert on networks but it was below 50 and now it is impossible to play any game would it be provider or something in my end ?
 
Was thinking the same.

Just moved over to Be* from nildram today and so far so good.

Only thing that i've noticed is pinging jolt or bbc.co.uk from cmd prompt gives the same pings that I use to get with Nildram (30ms).

Yet my mate who is still on Nildram is pinging (15ms). He is on some business package, not sure if that makes any difference. But I've seen people with a lot lower pings on the Be* forums, talking like (10ms)
 
interleaving will only raise your ping by 20ms max, not 250ms. Sounds more like your isp has gone to **** tbh :p

Your isp sounds like a pretty budget one tbh.

Was your package recently upgraded from the the 2/3mb adsl to the 6/8mb adsl2+ package?

Been reading a few reports of this having quite a negative impact on eircom users round trip times.

Eircom is the Irish equivelent to BT, i.e. the incumbent with 80% of xDSL customers.

Wouldn't say cheap, more like a shower of **** who do everything in their power to stall the attempts of any competitor entering the market.
