bad sector repair program?

hi there can you recommend me a freeware bad sector repair program, and also the most well known bad sector repair software please.

I'm trying to find out what can fix my HDD.

The first thing to try is Scandisk, it's built into Windows. Right click on the drive in My Computer, pick Properties then tools and then Error Checking. If you click both the Auto Fix and Scan and Fix bad clusters it should do what you need. It will take a while though so it's really an overnight job.

If that doesn't clear things up then the drive manufacturers own diagnostics may be able to help, there are links to all of them in the forum sticky.

i've done a windows scan, but that didnt work. Its a toshiba hdd, which there is no link too

hmm it seems that they dont have a diag utility for the hdds but you can use another makes diag utility as im sure it would do the same job

its seems that all the software i tried didnt work. Any other ideas?

What are you using to tell you that the drive has bad sectors?
