Bad Sector!!

Got 2X120GB Western Digital SATA drives that have happily sat in in a mirrored raid array for just over 3 years. They were controlled by a promise controller on my Abit NF7s (v2). I have had to replace the mobo an CPU recently. I now have a NForce 3 chipset and I can't seem to get the drives back into a mirrored array again

Event viewer reports an event with NVraid: The device, , has a bad block. When using chkdsk /r it replaced bad clusters in pagefile.sys and reported 4 bad sectors

Am I correct in thinking that there is no way round these bad sectors and so I will not be able to put these drives in a mirrored array?

deleted information on drives in raid facility at boot up.

Have created array and installed windows XP but the raid array degrades (reported at bootup)- the drives are seen by the OS as seperate drives with same size partitions. I then use nvraid raid manager to rebuild the raid array adding the secondary drive to the primary. This only ever reaches 1.45% and stops with the above error reported in the application event viewer. When the system is rebooted it reports the raid as healthy (at bootup) but once back in windows the nvraid reports that it is rebuilding the array and starts at 0% to again halt at 1.45%
