hi

ive just put this rig together and iv had a few problems , all sorted now apart from one . every time i play a modern game e.g. quake 4,serious sam 2,fear etc after about 20 mins it crashes and sometimes it reboots other times i have to hit reset . now im guessing here but it looks like a major heat problem somewhere . only trouble is my

cpu idle = 35 ( freezer pro )

graphics card idle = 51

is any body else getting this prob with this board

cheers

how do i find that out . at the moment all i can do is surf and play 2d games . ive just tried converting avi to a vob file ,after about 15 mins it beeps once and reboots

cheers

Idle temps don't sound bad at all. Download CoreTemp and/or motherboard monitor to get some more detail.
Have you tried overclocking this? If you have you may have left the system in an unstable state. There are a pile of stress test tools available to confirm your system.
What PSU are you using?
You might try resetting defaults in the bios, also check that any temperature warning levels in the bios are not set too low.

ok just ran coretemp and it says

core 1=30

core 2=30

tjunction=85

85 DEGREES WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN

cheers

85 degrees is the max temperature for the chip (where it starts throttling perhaps). You temps look fine, have you checked your RAM stability with Memtest?

Have you setup your memory correctly? If your running at 800 a lot of ram needs higher voltages to achieve this. Would ram have you got?

hi

its geil 800 ultra low latency ive tried running memtest it tells me to test 813 mb anto run it twice so i ran 2 memtests at the same time and after a few mins it rebooted. it runs memtest if i just test 813 once

cheers

right reset defaults , started converting avi to vob while browsing this forum and bingo it finished without rebooting . checked coretemp while converting

core 0= 41 degrees

core 1=44 degrees

i think i can eliminate the cpu will do some more tests
cheers

just ran 3dmark 2001 in a loop . it froze but it lasted over an hour which is a lot better than before

What voltage are you running the sticks at?

hi
im running a jeantech storm 700 watt psu and my ram is at 1.84 v . do you think thats a bit low

cheers

ran everest stress test for an hour and a half thats

fpu test

cpu test

ram test

everything was fine . cpu at 53 degrees. load serious sam 2 up and bingo it crashes again after about 15/20 mins
just benn on ram forum and i might be running my ram at too low voltage will set ti to 2.1 and try tomorrow
cheers
