Broke my racket last night so just after replacing it. A Carlton Powerblade Tour, just wondering if anyone knows of any reputable online racket stores that sell these, preferably with a discount (the norm with rackets online), I've been looking but have come across some websites that seem somewhat untrustworthy.

No budget, but when I see sites that usually give ~40% discounts it'd be nice if I could find one like that! Can't use MSN at work, but thanks for the swift reply ;)

Edit: Ah this is where I bought it from last time :p And they don't have any in stock, pants.

How often do you play? I'd recommend a Nano 5000 or something similar. You can pick it up for around £80. I use the Nano 9000 - which is around £120 on that site. It just depends on how you play/how often.

Most places offer racquets well below there RRP anyway.

I play 4 times a week, and I've found the Carlton for £59.99 (sweatband.com), so I'll grab it and hope I don't get defrauded.

I'm a Carlton person myself, never quite liked Yonex for some reason. I think if I was going to switch rackets I'd need to play with one for a few weeks to get a feel for it, so just replacing seems the best option. Cheers Rob :)

No problem....

I haven't played with a Carlton to be honest, my sister has a nice Carlton so I'll have to try it one day.

oops, just saw that you have already purchased.

The only advice I can give regarding rackets is to try before you buy if possible.

The most expensive rackets are only really suited to elite players. They are usually head light as this allows better control, while the technique of an advanced player still allows them to generate a lot of power.

I've tried so many rackets in the past, the most recent top quality ones being the entire nanospeed range by Yonex. TBH I found the Muscle Power series to be superior. I use both the MP99 and 100.

I used to have a Carlton Airblade 2000 which was and amazing racket. Strung at 30lbs with bg85 it was amazing to smash with.

I also use Ashaway Microspeed 85s for doubles, which have never let me down, which is why I have owned 6 of them.

All in all, they are very individual things. To me, having them strung at the correct tension with the correct string is the most important factor, unless the racket is excessively head heavy or light.
