sorry my typo Tetras it should be 10900K not a 10700K, and it was not a case of the power it was that the HX750 does not have 8 pin EPS cables, sorry for any confusion, so I still say the dealer whom I have spent a lot of money with over a 35 year period was wrong.

From what I'm aware of, the most recent version of the HX750 (2018?) has 2x 8 pin EPS connectors, but the older (2013?) version only has 1x 8 pin EPS connector. It's rare to have a motherboard which requires more than one 1x 8 pin EPS connector, though with a 10900k I suppose it's more likely you'll be using a high-end motherboard.

The power supply was bought in 2014, and yes I only ever use high end components, my motherboards are Asus Maximus XII Extreme and a MSI Godlike Z490 I dragged the Asus out of the trash and it worked straight away (the reason it went in the trash was I was so disgusted and thought the dealer had sold me a dud...LOL) so now it looks like a second build so I can have one computer solely for use with my 27 inch wacom cintiq and that will free up my 5K iMac.
