Hmm how much is the difference by? Are you sure your CPU isn't throttling due to heat etc? Check the BIOS settings to make sure all throttling is disabled.

Is your RAM linked? If so and you havent adjusted the multiplier its possible the RAM is unstable with the OC and that is affecting your overall score

By the way, I think you forgot to include the word "for" in your masterful repost? - "I shall write it down as reference FOR when I am scratching my head". Otherwise it just makes you sound like a bit of a simpleton to be honest.
