It's what they were doing in testing, mike gascoigne is a clever guy and is taking the better choice that being able to do a whole race distance is better than qualifying .1 of a second ahead of anther new team....

Yup. If it crossed the line and wasn't falling to pieces then it was over engineered and too heavy.

Simplify and add lightness.

2 mins a lap 20 laps left, 40 mins with the laps getting faster and faster.

would guess around 1:40 if no SC or anythng like that.

It was so much more skillfull to pass in the pitlane. That was awesome to see.

I must have been watching a different racing series on the 2000's...

Merely an average race so far. Not dreadful, but nowhere near exceptional.

Keep refuelling out of it though - with refuelling the most overtakes were done through the pit lane rather than on the track - now they have to try and do it on the track. But the cars aero are the problem, not fuel.
