So my old graphics card MSI GTX 580 started to artifact and freeze badly, pc would not recognize it
in the end.
Having read about putting your GPU in the oven, I thought why not nothing to lose, it isn't working,
after stripping it down I placed it in the oven on gas mark 6, left it baking away,
10 min later I turned the oven off and left the GPU to cool, very bad smell in the kitchen lol, put it back together.
I wasn't expecting much but it worked, gave it a good test with over 10 hrs of gaming without an issue.
Obviously this fix is only for a bad solder joint or the likes, no idea how long it will last, but hopefully it will last long enough for me to save for another GPU.
Will be hoping to get a gtx 1060 6GB or as anybody got any other suggestions for that kind of money?

Congratulations, main reason this happens is due to overheating and gpu being upside down. Mainly happens with laptops. So i suggest you keep and eye out on temperatures and maybe try bringing them down either by reapplying thermal paste or choosing different cooler or playing around with fan curves to prevent same stuff happening again.

Did this "back in the day" with an 8800GTS. Card was totally bricked and I bought it for £5. Quick spell in the oven, and fixed. :)

I would suggest the temp of your oven is no way hot enough to reflow the solder and it is more likely the PCB was twisted/distorted from a combination of bad cooling and airflow.

Nice you got it working but I wouldn't expect it to last very long.

Its quite a common thing to do so it does work. And in my case, my 8800GTS is still working in my spare PC, its been 8 years. :D

Type into YouTube "Reflowing dead flip chip GPU's is still BS!" I would link it but it contains swearing and against the rules of the forum.

If you've attempted this yourself, I hope you gave your oven a good clean after.

Applied the same principle to my Xbox 360, which had the feared red ring of death. It involved stripping it down and removing the heatsink/fan, turning it on and allowing it to get really hot for a bit. (No oven required.) It then worked for a fortnight and then died, permanently.
