Ballistix 5300 - Excellent ram for the price.

2.4Vdimm is a little beat high
this voltage with high ram frequencies ,just put as lot of heath in the Ram

if you risk it,I sugest you to have some colling fan over the ram

do this: open your pc case, with it running, and gentle touch the ram with your fingers (but before you do it, ground yourselve by touching the metal frame of the pc case, just to make sure you do not have any static electricity ,otherwise you could kill the ram) and even at 2.2Vdimm, you will see how hot the ram is :)

Im currently at 2.3 and its not hot at all, might as well try it, "he who dares" and all that, I wont keep it at that for long, i'll probably use 500mhz for day to day stuff but curiousity is getting the best of me, lol

I just do the "finger test"
and the ram is more hot than my skin - not much, but I think it is like 40 / 45ºC

and this is at 2.25V at 400mhz
this kind of temp is nothing to worry about, but i prefer to stay in the safe side :)

Hey guys, im a bit stuck now im running as per my sig, mem is at 4-4-4-10 @ 920mhz, if i raise my fsb more than this i wont boot to windows, if i wanted to go higher, what timings and voltages should i be looking to change?
Fsb = 460 x 7 = 3219mhz cpu volts = 1.45
Ram voltage = 2.2

No other voltages have been touched. Any higher and the machine turns on and off repetedly but after five times it boots at a default setting (I am impressed as i havent had to pop the battery out once yet)

Any advice? Thanks.

I BigJim

my board is Asus but try this:

up the vcore at 1.5V
up the NB ( chipset) voltage to 1.45V
try the Vdimm( ram) at 2.2V and 2.25 or even 2.3V

and try with ram at 12-4-4-4 timmings first
if this dont boot try more relaxed timmings at 15-5-5-5

anyway 3200mhz for a E6300 is very good
maybe your cpu is reaching the limit ??

and if you have not done it yet, disable all these things in bios, just left enabled - modify cpu ratio and the multipicator field
( hope your bios has something similar to this)

Well my P5N-E SLI is refusing to boot after a bios flash so its sent in for rma, I have picked up a Asus Commando and the memory voltage goes up to 3.3v  what would be a safe voltage to use with out cooking them.

They were running at 2.3 and were never hot, none of the top rated ram is rated for more than 2.5 so is 3.3 more of a gimmick, or can you actually pump some serious volts into them.

i dont know for sure but i think 3.3 might kill em almost instantly, from what ive read no more than 2.3 24/7 or maybe 2.4 for benchies
