Ballistix PC3200 Overclocking! (PC4400).

I would appreciate it if you did that for the Ballistix PC3200. Specially the timings you were able to achieve at 1:1 between 220 and 250 FSB

My newcastle 3500+ probably won't do more than 2600Mhz (my first go at 2500 failed but that was at default volts....)
I can be very short about that, I can run my 2x512Mb Ballistix PC3200 at 2.5-2-2-10-1T-2.8V up to 260Mhz without problems , first thing to go was CAS2 at around 215Mhz, the rest of the settings are on auto in the BIOS

Hmmm, well its the recommended stock voltage, but most motherboards seem to set it at 2.6v while on auto mode, probably better to go into BIOS and manually set the vDimm.

Tbh even the best Ballistix struggles to take on some good TCCD with 2x512mb modules, so they're not the most popular modules, especially with the reliability issues.

I've got the 2x1gb modules and they're good but I hope they don't die on me.

This is where Ballistix gets interesting, tight timings at low volts. When I had 2x512mb of Ballistix it was great on my NF2 setup but with NF3 and NF4 I could never get results to match it at 2.5-2-2-5.

Excactly, I am totally pleased with 260Mhz 2.5-2-2-10-1T as it is as fast, if not faster, than TCCD@300Mhz 3-4-4-10-1T

Right I'm at 230Mhz 1:1 2.5-3-3-10 1T @ 2.7v. Newcastle 3500+ at 2530 @ 1.55v

3DMark is slower overall though at 79xx as opposed to 804x when the CPU was at 2420Mhz and the RAM at 6:5 divider on 2-2-2-6 1T timings. What gives?

I think the ram will cope with faster, but 2.5-3-3-10 was the first I tried. Doubt Cas 2 will work but the others can hopefully tweak when I get more time.

Ran Memtest and all was fine too.

Got exactly the same score 7946 with mem timings now at 2.5-2-2-10 1T 230Mhz

I'm guessing the difference between Cas 2 and Cas 2.5 is quite marked! i can't quite believe that Ram running at more than 50Mhz faster can yield slower results !

The CPU marks in 3DMark 05 are up and I've not tried any games yet, so hopefully the increase in CPU speed is worth it.
