Going to announce winners of 7 awards soon.

Matty Burrows up for the goal of the season for that 20 yard back heel!
They had a brief clip of him on the radio today and he heard all the Barca team were going to be there so went out to buy a football shirt to get them to sign it. He's only a part time player :o

Awards for best 11 as well in their positions, female, male etc.. And coach of the year.

Hes been brilliant for club and country Pique, 1-2 years ago wasn't so keen on him but he really has grown into a great CB.

Jose coach of the year.

Scored a pretty impressive goal in the CL against Inter (for a centre back) - my immediate recollection of him as a player. :D

I never seem to bother with this award. Messi deserves it, I guess i'm just a bit bitter that nobody in the EPL seems to stand a chance of winning it nowadays. I mean before Ronaldo it was what... Owen almost ten years ago?

Not saying that Messi doesn't deserve it mind - he's an amazing talent.

Tute more of a reflection on the standard and consistency of our players.

Radio made a good point, Rooney if he had carried on his form would have been up there but look now.

No single stand out player really of the same caliber in our game at the mo.

Rooney if he'd carried on his form would never have been close to "being up there", not even close, and most importantly, he didn't carry on his form because he's not that good of a player.

Maicon and Pique are the only two that shouldn't be there, because neither can defend. Puyol covers Pique's ass badly, if you watch a decent portion of Barca games you'll see probably more than half the goals Barca do concede are epic mistakes by Pique, he's a mistake prone goon. He can have a good game on his day but he's a mistake waiting to happen basically, scores the odd own goal, makes insane decisions in the box to fluff up clearances or gift chances.

If theres one place Barca could improve, and improve quite a lot, its Pique's CB position.

Only thing I think is utterly ridiculous is people talking SO much about Ronaldo in the build up to the awards and loads of them suggesting he didn't make the final three because he had a poor year for club and country??????

Ronaldo was insanely good last year, and its embarassing he wasn't in the final 3, he scored eleventy billion -1 goals last year while Messi scored eleventy billion. Ronaldo was in a significantly worse team, for club and country, and for country he was the mastermind behind 2 or 3 really brilliant performances.

Henry was sort of there for a few years and even got placed a couple of times.

Always got beaten by that year's WC/Euro/European Cup finalist/winner. It's that criteria which seems to be pretty strong, so we've had Gerrard and Lampard at one point too. I guess this year is different that Inter's attackers didn't really get a mention over Barca's who 'only' won their domestic league. And also that Messi beat his own team mates when they won the WC. :p
