Bambu Lab H2D

I am tempted tbh, but really cant justify the price even though I was looking at the X1C Combo to start off with, that was kinda the top end of where I wanted to spend, but then talked myself down to the P1S Combo, then the Kobra, might have to see if I can convince a mate to get one instead so I can still play :D

Similar thoughts. As decent as it seems it would, largely, be something I would struggle to justify spending so much for a printer not knowing how much it would even be used.

Have you got the Kobra yet and if so what do you think of it..?

ETA on the Kobra is 25th of April - 10th of May, which blows, wonder if its because its the combo, or maybe they're slowly ramping up, others seem to have their devices so no idea..
I did comment on one of Ricky Impeys videos re him testing one, he's talking to them apparently so see if he can get one before I do, if its crap then I can bin off the pre-order and go back to the idea of the P1S Combo instead..

The PIs combo does seem to offer the best chances of a great OOB experience, rather than relying on the 3d printer lottery gods. I did not know that the 4 colour filament holder was even out at this point for the Kobra S1, perhaps that is holding it up..?

I would not be sure what advantages that I would value that the Kobra has the potential to offer over that of the expected "just works out of the box" the Bambu one could ..?

1000m/s with 20km/s2 accel is mad, you're going to be limited by the flow rate really. I'm guessing that 40 mm³/s is with some high flow PLA or something.

not for me personally but it'll be interesting to see either way.
Are those good speeds then compared to other printers?

Depends... how accurate is it at those speeds and how often is it able to hit them, the current flagship is X1C is 500m/s with 20m/s acceleration and 32mm3/s flow rate, the H2D is 1000m/s speed with 20,000mm/s acceleration (which unless my maths is wrong is the same as the X1C's 20m/s and certainly not 20km/s :p) and 40mm3/s flow rate standard or 65mm3/s with the optional high flow hotend, so max speed is double, my SV-08 is 700m/s speed with 40,000mm/s acceleration and around a 30mm3/s flow rate supposedly.

They're all pretty quick compared to the likes of a standard Ender 3 that much is certain :D

Haha yeah, my Ender3Pro tops out at just over 15mm3/s so I cap it at 14 just to be sure, a higher flow nozzle would help but anything over 300m/s and 3.5k acceleration and the nozzle craps out...

It's quite large

very excited for this, even though we bought 2x X1E's last year, the dual extruder will be a game changer on this.

Well, that plan lasted all of 5 minutes.

I had planned to take the old AMS from my X1C and connect it to the 2nd extruder on the H2D. One AMS per nozzle. I was then going to single feed my X1C and manually load failament. The H2D worked quite happily like this by the way and I did a quick 2 colour print with filament feeding from each nozzle. Colour changes were super quick.

Well, I forgot that manually loading filament in to the X1C means I have to.... well.... manually load filament......
AMS back on the X1C and a 2nd AMS2 has been ordered for the H2D.

pretty cool you can swap them around, didn't realise the AMS1's were compatible with the h2d!

I saw a photo of someones 3d printer inside a grow tent to contain the fumes.
seems like a good idea if the printers arent completely air tight and your doing anything nasty

Super tempted by the upgrade. Most of my prints are single colour, but usually with supports. The more complex the supports are, the more purge there is and that starts to get pretty eye watering! Seems like this dual nozzle would largely solve this but the price is a tough one to swallow even if I could sell my X1C for top dollar. Is the reduction in purge worth effectively £800-£1000 over what I could possibly sell my X1C for? lol tough call!
