band of brothers

its another lame american "we all band togethor and win the war" patrotic snooze fest. its got that guy from big in it though

No it isn't and are you sure you are talking about Band of Brothers and not Saving Private Ryan?

You have to get it dude. The best thing I've ever watched by far and as mentioned before, its truly moving.

One of the most epic pieces of work to be put onto film. moving, gritty, compelling.

I feel that everyone should be made to watch this series as school history

I know, i was quoting the above post when disputing Tom Hanks was in it

He did a very good job directing though, with the Steve

oh, where abouts in South Shields do you live?

Yes. This is an amazing series. You need to see this!

It's superb.

Amazing series!!

Really is one of the best things ive ever watched.

One of the best series ever, well worth the money IMO.

My favourite series of all time on tv. It is truly moving and genuinely gripping. A brilliant if not stunning watch.

definitely reccomend buying it, possibly the best tv series ive ever watched.

Thats basically what I think of it. :)

Would have quoted everyone else until that **** iBot decided to shown up and post more of his worthless **** on these forums.

Tom Hanks wasn't in Band of Brothers, he helped direct it iirc.

KaHn

Actually, apparently he does take part in various episodes as an extra in the background. He was tank crew and one of the British Paras. He's supposed to like doing that kind of thing when directing (Hitchcockesque kind of thing)

Still one of the greatest TV series ever made, from the moment of hearing the theme music it puts a lump in my throat.

Oh Yeah and iBot .....
Not only do you spout utter tripe it's inaccurate tripe

If there was any justice in the world you'd be made to run Currahee after a belly full of army noodles with sauce and have all weekend passes revoked for the rest of your life.

Amazing series, I'm going to have to watch it all again soon, for about the tenth time :D

Patriotic? There's so much death and sadness and conflict in it, it's hardly a patriotic snoozefest

Going to be watching the series again in may when my friend from melbourne is back from uni:cool:

Lol iBot, i wonder if you ever smile in real life :/

To quote from IMDB

Plot Outline: A 10-part mini-series from the creators of "Band of Brothers" telling the intertwined stories of three Marines during America's battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.
Seems a bit lame, BoB concentrated on a whole company :/

There are plently more around the the interweb:)

hmmmmmm cod 1 made because of band of brothers (cod1)
new bob series in pacific and guess whats cod5 is about and where in location.
kinda feaky deaky

Just to clear something up: Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks were producers. Hanks directed one of the episodes. Most episodes were all directed by different people.

It's a stunning series and it should be noted that the events and characters were all real, based on the accounts of the men that the series is about. In fact the veterans even got to see all the scripts first to make sure it was all accurate. The DVD boxset comes with a documentary interviewing the surviving members and it's an absolute must watch once you've finished the series - very emotional.
