I know that this has been asked here before (I did a quick search but couldn't find it) but what is the name of the tool that allows you to monitor how much bandwidth you have used? For example if you were on a 1GB limited broadband package and you wanted to keep an eye on how much your using.

Thanks

yup

netmeter works really well, it's basically a free du meter will less features

to save bandwidth, i seriously suggest you use firefox with adblock plus and the 'Easylist subscription', basically it's a list of ads/banners that it blocks before your pc downloads them

pages look much much nicer and you don't waste the bandwidth on the crap on the pages :), turning sig's off on ocuk would help a lot too :)

I too used to use netmeter back when I had limited bandwidth. Superb program and so compact

Thanks everyone, netmeter was the program I was after, couldn't remember the name though. Going to wales this weekend and there is a hotspot broadcasting near our caravan (static) but there is a 200MB limit on it when you buy credit so I need to watch what I'm using. Is there any programs for OSX that do a similar thing?
