What is considered the best "bang for buck" SSD's these days? I've been a bit of a Samsung whore - so 830's and 840's, however I know there are cheaper SSD's out there.
Are there any real bargains - so relatively cheap SSD's that perform pretty good, or is it the usual suspects such as Intel drives and you pay for what you get?

Cheers.

actually the intel isn't bad at that price

depends on which out of all those has best read/write and iops, all will be reliable

YOUR BASKET
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x Intel 335 Series 20nm 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail (SSDSC2CT240A4K5) £79.99
Total : £169.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I wouldn't consider the Samsung being "best bang for buck" since its £30 more than some of the other drives on offer. Yes, it's a superb drive, but not value for money.

Yes. For ~250GB I'd take that Intel any day due to it being slightly faster

The difference isn't really going to be noticeable anyway. Those who are fussy and want the 'best' will be looking at the 500mb/s speeds.

Yeah of course, but why get the Crucial lol, same price - still, either way you get excellent speeds and value
