Anyone know off any banks that dont charge you when you withdraw monies anywhere in the world? Think ive heard that Nationwide dont charge, off traveling soon.

get a nationwide account. they deffo don't charge, a lot of people i met whilst travelling were funded by a nationwide current/credit acount

Yep, as mentioned, Nationwide don't charge you any transaction fees for using your card abroad

You could apply for it online but to be honest it's better done in the branch in case there are any delays, for example, due to doubts over your ID... alternatively you can call 'em on 0800 30 20 10.

If you're going in a couple of weeks then you'll get the card through in enough time... I can't remember the average lead time off the top of my head but it's measured in days not weeks. I can check this tomorrow with some colleagues, if you're concerned about receiving it by a particular date.

Yup use my nationwide cards all the time in France. I laugh at people who mess about trying to make sure they have enough euros. Its much easier handing someone a credit card than it is fumbling with unfamiliar change.

Iam with barclays, and was going to take my current account debit card and the barclays credit card, but unsure what to take now :p

Cheers for the advice guys, got my nationwide account opened with an OD off £750. Just waiting on my pin now, and details for online banking.

My intention was for my parents to do all my online banking here in the UK while iam away but, iam sure you cant access you balance at foreign cash points, which would be a problem. I will be able to keep a rough guess.

Iam thinking that I will transfer most off my money that is in barclays account to my nationwide account, and take both cards incase I lose one, and an addition credit card.

Those who have experience, how did you manage you money while you where away?

Whenever anyone says monies all I can think of is
