Bank Transfer Same Day?

Hi i've bank transferred some money about 20mins ago, is it same day, will the person recieve it before 2 o clock.

Depends - If it's the same bank (or group) then it usually will go through within a couple of hours. If not, then 3 days is normal.
 
In past experience - no it won't appear same day if its 2 different banks. Usually a day or more likely two.

edit: beaten, not once but twice. I'm clearly slow today :)

I can transfer money from my Alliance & Leicester account to my HSBC account almost instantly.

Its going from HSBC -> Alliance & Leicester.

Both apply for that faster accounts.
 
Should be pretty instant then, although Alliance & Leicester's online banking is awful. The money will probably be available but won't appear on the statement straight away.

so will the person ive sent money to, know that the money is in the bank by 2pm by checking or not?

ive sent it already reason im wondering is because dhl are picking up an item from the person who i've sent this money too, but he doesnt want the package to leave his door unless he recieves the money, and dhl are supposebly picking up between 2 and 5.

thats the problem.

so i might have to ring dhl and ask them to reschedule collection! if the money doesnt show up within the next 2 hours.
 
Ive had loads of transfers to and from different banks and most are same day. Most banks now use the Faster Payment service meaning funds clear into reciving account almost immediatly
 
The only person who can give you the answer either way is the guy who you are paying.

It *should* have arrived pretty much instantly however.
