Having a mare with this one. Trying to do online banking, and the website after logging in will randomly log back out to the login screen. Can happen instantly or after a few clicks about.

I've tried both Edge and Firefox. I've tried adding the site to the security settings of the browser to exclude it from enhanced security and tracker blocking etc.

I've tried with 3rd party AV disabled and then with it completely uninstalled.

I've tried from two computers and get the same result. Clearing cache and cookies doesn't help.

Even tried from an android mobile phone with Firefox to rule out an OS / patch issue on Windows 11. Same thing happens.

Rebooted router just in case.

I have the number for the digital banking team after getting no where on the basic chat with the bank customer services.

Anyone ever come across something like this before? Pulling my hair out.

Thanks.

Post you login ID, password and PIN and I'll take a look.

Also, am obvious explanation would be that the problem is at their end. For how long has it been happening?

About a month or two now. Had to revert to using their app but phone screen just can't compete against the real estate offered by a laptop screen / computer monitor. It's frustrating enough to consider switching banks. But I'll give them a chance first when I call them tomorrow. If they fob me off then I'll consider jumping ship.

Try chrome browser

As a workaround
Use the app
But mirror your phone screen to pc/laptop
To get that real estate you want
Several ways to do that
Personally I have samsung dex
And a monitor with usb-c so I just plug the mobile in
But multiple ways to mirror it wirelessly

When you double checked
Was the second computer still one on
Your home network?
Tried from a family members pc?
Does your router have any sort of security that
Might cause an issue?
Or are you using customised dns servers?
That one caused me severe issues with certain websites
Took me ages to figure it out

Thanks some good suggestions there.

When I tried from my phone I was on the same home network. I'll try via data and see what happens.

Also yes, using custom dns provider. I'll revert that and try another provider. Google or cloudflare for example.

Failing that I can try from a family members pc at the weekend.

Sorry I didn't mention the bank in question deliberately as I don't want that on a public forum, if anything was hacked, could lead to spam or targeted phishing. I know. Paranoid much. But can't be too careful nowadays.

Thanks.

Not sure which bank matters
To me anyway looks like a network issue
Trying via mobile data, reverting dns etc
Should hopefully work
I reverted my dns to cloudflare
And problem went away
Took me ages to remember I had changed the dns
In the router configuration
Not just on the pc doh!

Santander? Happens to me every time I use mobile data but not while on WiFi. All other bank websites work just fine so I put down to Santander being generally crap.

So I tried Cloudflare and Google for DNS, didn't make a difference so back to Quad9 now. Also tried from my mobile via Data instead of Home WiFi. Same issue. So frustrating. I called the number given to me today, 20 minutes later, still no resolution not really making any progress and I had to get back to work so just told them to forget about it for now and I'd just use the App.

Do you have any browser extensions?

Could try an incognito tab (Chrome) and see if that helps at all?

Just to double check the app for the bank is fine its just when your trying to use the website\PC?

Could be a long shot as may not be available but can you install the android app on your PC for Windows 11?

Windows 11 has the ability to use android apps and if the android app for the bank is working fine you maybe able to install it on your desktop

edit - Seems like it uses the Amazon app store having a quick look online so if the banking app is on there you maybe able to use it

Yep windows subsystem for android
It can emulate android on pc
Used to be a bit of a PITA to install it
Not messed around with it in ages so may be easier now

Another option that doesn't rely on having windows 11
Install android studio
Then use it to emulate a mobile phone and android version
Of your choice
Much simpler than getting WSA installed used to be

Neither of these are ideal solutions
As obviously would prefer to fix the browser version
But they may serve as workarounds
Have messed around with both in the past
But didn't specifically test a banking app
Those may not react well to emulated devices
Though not sure

Thanks yeah no browser extensions also tried incognito / private tab.

Yeah banking app is fine - just been on it now. Just the website on PC or Phone.
When you switched dns servers did you also purge your pc dns cache with

Ifconfig /flushdns

Otherwise it will just use cache
