Just wondering how the rest of OcUK manage there finances, looking towards getting a new main bank account.

I have been looking at the Alliance & Leicester Current Account, but it's for over 21's. I am currently 20. years young.

Looking for decent interest rates, good service and ofcourse internet banking capabilites.

Currently with HSBC, sadly. I also have a Barclays account, which has around £1 in it.

Any ideas chaps?

How much are you earning? Best current account for 18-20 would be the Lloyds TSB classic plus account. I've been with them for about a year now, internet banking is very good, as is their customer services. I have never had a single problem with them. Still with them for my student account.

Even as much as 1% difference (which is all there generally is between high street easy access savers) doesnt make a damn sight of difference really on the kind of savings you are likely to have at 20.

The way i have mine set up is having an ISA, an ESA, a current account, and a credit card, all with natwest. It makes organising everything very easy as they all appear on the same online banking screen and you can move money around willy nilly instantly.

Also, mini-reviews of your banks internet banking would be awesome.

1% beats the 0.1% i get from HSBC.

Infact I haven't a clue which account I have with them, as I signed up when I was at school, they were Midlands then. Probably a student account.

Knocked up a quick screenshot and explanation of everything on my natwest online banking, its very nice to use, you just click on each account to change details. :)

I'll second that. Been with NatWest for years and they've been very good. Like their online banking service as well.

One thing that inpressed me was the security involved in setting it up. For some reason there was a slight discrepancy between details held at my branch and the online department. This caused me to go through the whole process twice, involving snail mail applications and the sending of codes etc. Although this was a pain it did make me feel like they were on the ball security wise.
