Banned from the daily mail :(

Well i don't want to realy discuss that here, not my intention. I was merely pointing out why i thought i might have been banned.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/mic...atrist-transgender-mental-disorder-sex-change

There are actual some people who think that might be the case though. It is quite a big serious issue for a lot of people and i was not saying it an offensive or demeaning way. But either way, i apologize for bringing it up here as now that is probably going to take over the whole thread. And can't edit the comment out because its already been discussed. I honestly did not think it was that controversial.

Do they really?

Well they don't recognise it as mental illness so by definition yes they do.

Has it been disproved categorically? If not, then he is telling the truth, Therefore, how can it be ban worthy?

You can't prove a negative. You don't start with the assertion that it is a mental illness and then try to disprove it. You look at it unbiased and make an assessment. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it has been studied quite a bit and as yet I'm unaware that being transgendered has been classified as a mental illness.

By your logic me saying "The Sugar Plum Fairy exists" is me 'telling the truth' because no one has disproved my claim.

I once did something daft on my work PC, can't remember what, called to managers office and he sat there trying to tell me off whilst bursting out laughing and with me sat there tying not to have a hernia from laughing.

HOLD ON!

using the n word does not mean you're a bad person. Without the context as to how it was used it is impossible for anyone here to form an opinion on the OP. Such fear from the use of certain words when it may well have not been used in anger or in a negative way against certain people. Silly censoring has been silly.

regarding the transgender thing.... everyone is entitled to an opinion.

No but it almost always provokes a bad reaction in a comment section.

I cant imagine a context where the use of the word on The Daily Mail website is inoffensive where an alternative word couldn't be used.

Hell, we are having a conversation specifically about the incident and the word has yet to be said and it still provoked an aggressive reaction.

So, what roughly was the comment about? or in what context was it used?

There are loads.

'****** is not a socially accepted word.'

'Why can back people say ***** and it's fne but when a white person says ****** all hell breaks loose.'

and so on..

The reason I have not actually said the words is because of the obvious ban. Which would be silly, as we are discussing said word and I have not used it in a derogatory way. But that is how most forums act... doesn't mean I am a bad person.
