Barclaycard asking to take 2 forms of ID? -to nearest branch?)-

My cousin, they have had a barclaycard for 2 years, for basic uk shop purchases, rarely.

They then tried to purchase something online and it declined.

She called them, they asked about 5-6 security questions (more than usual)
and passed the call to their fraud team, who said she needs to visit the branch with 2 forms of Id.

Has this happened to you? share your experience and extra comments to these questions.

If this happened to you,
1) What was your scenario? ie you used your barclaycard for an online for a USA company? or paid an insurance company with your barclaycard? etc?

2) What forms of ID do they require for the 2?

3) Aswell as the barclaycard phone staff telling you to do this,
did they also sent you a letter aswell, confirming that you need to do this? or any other letter?

4) How long does this process take? to remove the block ? how long did it take you ?

5) Will they sent a complete new card in the post? with a new chip?
or just re-activate the old one?

6) Do they need to speak to the customer over the phone too? while they are there?
- the barclaycard phone staff that is ?

7) if they need to speak to you, while in the branch as the card holder, what kinda things do the Barclaycard Staff ask on the phone?

Broken hope, you had a similar problem some weeks back.

what happened when you went to the branch, regarding this matter?

When you showed 2 forms of ID, and the branch staff verified you, and they barclay staff called Barclaycard there....

did you have to speak to the Barclaycard customer services too ?

My cousin has speech difficulties,
so Readers, can you please answer each question in the
a) b) c) d) etc format ..please.

That would be appreciated please.

But you're writing this not your cousin

-It is a health thing, i don't wish to go into too much detail, but..

I meant she has speech issues, in the sense that when she takes her ID to the branch, will they ask to speak to her? (as the speech difficulties) ?

or the branch staff will verify the photo Id,
branch staff will call barclaycard, and the customer doesn't have to speak?

Well that makes more sense now!

ID is likely to be picture ID and something with current address, she will have to speak at some point though. Can't help with much else though.

Can d_brennen elaborate, as he said he has done this..

(is there anyway for me to send a telopathic signal to him, using our minds? lol )

I had this on a Barclays debit card. I basically stood on the phone in the branch for half an hour while talking to someone from what I believe was India. Did fix it in the end though.
