Hey guys have any of you checked out the new app called Barclays PingIT?

You can transfer upto £300 a day to anyone digitally using this app. It is compatible with Android, iOS and Blackberries. Go search for it in the app store now.

I saw it reported on but haven't checked it out yet. It sounds like quite a nice app... but it'll be better if the iPhone 5 carries NFC technology and Apple lets you use its API ;)

I tired this but it crashes straight away on both my iPad and iPhone. Has anyone got it workingon Jailbreaked devices?

I read on (I think) El Reg that it won't work on jailbroken devices.

That's a good thing in my opinion.

Really nice app, will be even better when you can use it without needing to have a Barclays account! Just need to add the ability to associate more than one phone with one bank account!

Just set it up, very nice kind of surprised it's taking all the banks so long to implement proper mobile banking apps though.

Would you really run it on a rooted/jailbroken device though? I think that's asking for trouble, and could prove to be an expensive mistake.

I think it's good that this app won't run on rooted devices.

I see your point but I've never had a security problem in three years on my JB iOS devices.

The most handy thing I find about it is that it gives me my balance without having to jump through all the convoluted hoops that Barclays online banking makes you jump through just to log in.

Not tried sending any money through it yet.

You do know that they do that to protect you right?

Same, I have my iPhone jailbroken and use the natwest app daily. The 'good' thing about the natwest app is that you can only send money to existing payees, in my case is like 5 people. Most of them being from the MM and then family. So you can't just go send money to anyone.
