So I'm looking at a new PC, don't need any of the following:

-Case
-Peripherals
-OS
-Optical Drive

Budget is £700, will be wanting to play latest games comfortably at 1080p.

Thinking along the lines of devil's canyon and maybe an R9 280? Will this be enough?

Also, 16GB ram is a necessity because of the amount of java work I do that's happening and the amount of programs open at once in the background, hopefully whilst playing games.

Hoping if devils canyon is the best way to go it'll be able to overclock to 4.5ghz, is this reasonable for simple air cooling? I know the sandy/ivybridges could.

Thanks

What case do you have?

Is the OS 64bit?

Is the optical drive SATA?

Whats wrong with the spec in your sig? cant that just be added to?

Sorry, should have explained more. The spec in my sig is separate.

OS is 64bit Win 8.1
DVD drive is SATA - OCUK unbranded cheapo one
Case is Antec 302, ATX I believe?

Id be inclined to agree with stulid. Pehaps add a secondhand 3770k to your existing rig, if you intend to keep your xfired gpu's for a while. Or a gpu upgrade to a new single card. Which the 3570k will cope grand with.
