Been doing some part time trading recently and have picked up a few contacts along the way. Spoke with a trader I've had a few cars off recently and managed to pick up a 2005 182 off him today for £1600 :)

The car needs a bit of work, 2 of the wheels need refurbing and the front and rear bumper have small scuffs but I'll be doing both of these tomorrow. The windscreen also has a few chips on it and the mileage is quite high at 113k with only part service history. But a bargain none the less I think?

Drove it all the back from Essex to South Wales and it didn't miss a beat, lovely car to drive, interior is almost immaculate, makes me think it's a lot of motorway miles.

Undecided on whether to keep or sell her at the moment! 4 months tax and mot. Love the color -

Pretty cheap for a 182. First thing to do is make sure it's had both belts done, and if it sounds like a tractor it needs the de-phaser doing.

Oh, there's also a RS Clio thread :P

If it needs the belts doing I don't think a 7 year old 6 figure mileage Clio that needs work and was sold trade is exactly a bargain at 1500.

This. A quick scan shows a few available with similar mileage for around 2k retail.

At that mileage the cam belt should have been changed at least once and the aux belt three times. Last aux belt change should have been at 108K miles.

Haha of course. Maybe bargain wasn't the best term to use, think it was a good price though. I'll get some photos up when I've done the wheels and the scuffs :)

Missing the front splitter, but at that price beggars can't be choosers. The interior looks alright for the miles!

Can't really comment on the mileage as all I know is that mine's done less than half that, but I don't know what these engines are good to! I'd be wanting to check both belts are within schedule though, and that it wasn't done by a cowboy that doesn't know these engines and messed up the timing.

Yeah it's on the original Exhaust, it was the only advisory on the last mot so will need replacing in the near future. Decided to sell it, should make a small profit after doing the wheels and small bumper scuffs (will do them early next week, had too much on today)

The interior is really good to be fair, bit of wear on the steering wheel but that's it really.

Yeah it's just a small part on the right hand side, he said the steering wheel was badly worn so I was expecting a lot worse.

Tbh it's not a bargain, you won't be able to tell if the belts have been done without service history, meaning you need to get them done and that is £500 gone already.

If the dephaser is noisy add ~£150 on top, and you're probably looking at an aux belt change too!
