If I remember correctly, when they rebuilt the Reyand Escort they used a new shell, so it wouldnt have been a Cossie to start with ;)

Considering they used a Cossie shell, which due to its shape is different to a standard one to fit the sierra chassis, it WILL have been a "cossie".

I'll argue that a genuine cossie shell is worth a lot more than £500.

Yes, easily. If that engine is putting down anywhere near the claimed figure it will have cost this much. I'm no fan of novas, but can appreciate the engineering that has gone into making this car. unfortunately you will never see back the money that goes into modding a car, and in my eyes it is seriously overpriced. If it were my car i'd break it for parts to try to get the most cash back on it i could, rather than selling the whole car.

WTF? It was a personal opinion you inconsiderate peon. Its not like i've taken a dig at your appearance or anything

For someone who is backing the thing up so much I'd have thought you'd realise that the front end is Function BEFORE Form. It is "styled" like that for a reason. Even I can see that.

 your funny. Im not backing it up, I dont like it, i never said i did. The front end has been "styled" like that because they couldnt be bothered to move the rads round and fit the fan in properly, its naff especially with the acres of halfords mesh, but then you seat boys probly love your silver mesh.

Very argumentative for a newbie aren't you.

I would hazard an educated guess that the "radiator" which appears to be an intercooler, is there because the engine, ancillaries, and added turbo and pipework mean that the engine bay is rather full.

Yes, I love my chicken wire, can't you see I have loads of it on my car

Phear the postcount?.

Im scared

Apparently the chap who owned the car had spent thousands on it before it went to Racetech UK who messed him about over the work and took months (maybe years im not too sure) to do the work. At the end they gave him a bill for £17k, this led to a huge debate over the timescale and what not, in the end the chap told them to keep it and didnt pay the bill! The car had about £40k spent on it (over a number of years) before the last bill, its a case of taking to one place getting work done and then taking it somewhere else and getting more done. As a lot of people do with too much money trying to build a "max power cover car" I imagine the tuning company is now trying to sell it through the place that have it on ebay now.

.... but then what do I know, im just a n00b

It's worth nothing near that as a whole car. They need to strip it to make any of that money back really.

Very powerful car.

I've seen a 280 LET in action in a heavier Corsa and that flew.

It's certainly worth £2,500 para and you know it. Even you could buy it for £2500 and break it for far more. Luckily it's the market that decides value, not you :)

GT3: Willwood 4-pot front brakes with 300mm discs and bells - Why has your 1.6 saxo got this setup?

an educated guess? expert on Turbo novas are we? funny, most manage to get a big rad, oil cooler and 10 litre intercooler behind the standard bumper without a problem.
Yes, but most of them dont have charge cooler half the size of the engine again sitting the the engine bay.

The fan is probably in that position because you have and intercooler sitting right on top of the radiator and there is no room behind the radiator or between the rad and intercooler to place it.

It looks like very bad design to me. From the looks of it, that intercooler doesn't look all that tall. I would have wanted to mount it lower down and leave that top space for air to come into the radiator. Doing that I dont think you'd of had to cut the radiator up like they have done.

The rad for the charge cooler also looks tiny, for such a big charge cooler. But I guess every little helps.

Surely those BHP figures are totally pointless as you wouldn't be able to get anything like that down to the wheels. You'd just end up with a mediocrely fast car with a very large tyre bill.... And a very light wallet.

I've just had a second glance at this. Turns out that that is a radiator. There is no intercooler.

Its all done on the charge cooler. So all the charge heat has to be removed using that tiny little pre rad. Thats gotta heat up real quick with that amount of power. :o

Yup think your right, chargecooler rather than an intercooler. A lot of the spec is questionable, i mean its using a courtenay exhaust manifold which I think is a cast iron thing, im amazed if thats allowing enough flow for that sort of power. Plus throttle boddies without flaps? lol so bits of tube with injectors, whats the point? why not use a custom inlet its all a bit odd really.

oh and paradigm said its an intercooler not a rad, he must be right, he's got like double your post count and an "educated guess" to back him up

People always say this but have you seen one go? It gives you the ability to accelerate in 5th quicker that most could in 2nd..
