Hello all, thought I'd let you know about a deal I saw in Gamestation in Bournemouth. (pretty sure that's not one of the competitors)

They are doing 4 pre-owned games for £20 and some of the games on the deal are fantastic!

I picked up Halo 2, MK : Deception, NFL Street (awesome) and SW:KOTOR for £20, not bad at all!

There were tons of games in there, not sure if this deal is in all the shops but it's highly recommended! :)

Now, to finally see what all the fuss about Halo 2 and KOTOR is! Had a quick blast on Halo 2 last night, looks pretty impressive

Am enjoying my Xbox loads atm, it has been broken (DVD drive died) since about August and haven't played it since, ordered a replacement drive which arrived yesterday so it's getting a whole new lease of life.

SW: Kotor is absolutely fantastic. It's worth playing just for the twist alone. :D

There's a twist? Darn. I never got that far. Looks like I'm replaying it on the 360, assuming it works.
If you dont replay it, I'll steal your hat at the next meet :p

I got KOTOR for the Xbox myself just recently, despite not being into RPG games at all. A number of people had said things like 'I hate RPG games.. but loved KOTOR' so I thought I'd give it a try. I really couldn't see the appeal though I'm afraid.. poor graphics (yet still with framerate issues) and monotonous, tedious gameplay. In fact it's not so much a game as a semi-interactive movie. I played it for about two hours across two sittings. After that it's gone back on ebay.

As Psymonkee says, finish Taris then it gets a lot more exciting! Seriously, you won't regret it.

I remember having to redo Taris when I played through the game for a second time (dark side! :D ) and it was painful, even though I knew exactly what to do...

5-6 hours before it starts getting good?

The AI seems a bit odd - I mean I broke into people's apartments while they were inside.. and then calmly stole all their possessions, and they just stand there without batting an eyelid and are happy to engage me in conversation :p You might think they'd take exception to me breaking in and robbing them but not a bit of it :D

At the bit where the guard doesn't let you through the door because you don't have authorisation, so you need to go and find a uniform.. why can't we just shoot him?! It's all very linear it seems - there is no freedom to deviate from the pre-planned scripts and events. Meh, maybe you need to be a Star Wars fan to really enjoy the game, but I have read that you don't need to be.

I may give it another chance later - I can cancel the auction if I decide I want to keep it :) A few times I have sold a game quickly, only to buy it again and give it another try :o PGR 2 was one of those which I was glad I gave another chance.

Well, I thought it was quite good to start with, but it really picks up after Taris as you start getting force powers and your first lightsaber after that, so it's worth playing through to that point alone.

What did you think of KOTOR then? :)

I had another go on it earlier for about an hour.. I couldn't say I enjoyed it particularly. I played the blackjack-style game, and took part in the deathmatch tournament thingy.. it was all a bit 'meh' though..

I guess I can see how people would enjoy it, and I appreciate that games of this type don't need good graphics (although they would be nice) but I dunno, it just isn't for me I don't think.

Haven't opened it yet :p Been playing Halo 2 so far, am really enjoying it :)

Think I'll have a blast on KOTOR at the weekend when I've got a bit of time to sit down and pay attention to the story etc, will post here with my impressions!

I only played it last year :p (on the PC too)

I found it fiddly initially and then frustrating fighting and at one point a snapped and uninstalled the game and broke one of the CD's :o

Another go and I had much better results ;)

my local GAME have the same deal (except it's 2 for a tenner, so you don't have to buy so many) includes PS2 games aswell.
They do some games for 2 for £5 at my local GAME but they only really had hundreds of copies of Splinter Cell, Timesplitters 2 and XIII.
