Basic Electronics Books - Recommendations?

Hey Guys,

Soon I will be embarking on my epic quest that is my dissertation and need to swat up on some basic electronics for a small part of it - and first thing that came to mind was going out to pick up a "Electronics for Dummies" book or such, but I thought I would ask what tomes of knowledge you guys would recommend!

OK - Cheers for the replies! I might nip into a local book shop and see what they have to offer - I'm not after a lot, just to brush up and be able to explain myself in the correct terminology etc.
