Basic fitness regime

What's the simplest exercise routine for simply losing a bit of weight and getting fit? Running maybe? Or swimming? (don't fancy that really). Or something else?

swim one day, run/jog the next, full body weights workout the day after. Repeat. rest sunday.

That is a perfect week. aim to do 30 mins of each sport at least once a week. it should get you basically fit :)
 
All depends how fit you ant to get but nothing is simpler than walking. And because of its comparatively low intensity its great for fat burning.
 
I'm averagely fit. I can run probably a mile, well, maybe a km, but then I'd be dead for an hour :)

Just want to get trim, and have more energy really. Don't like the idea of getting fat, as I've hit that point where if I don't start now, I may become a fatty before long. No thanks :)
 
If you want to lose some weight then you'd best also pay some attention to your diet. Try and reduce junk food and see what effect that has to begin with.

If you're that exhausted after runing a mile or km then, unless you're sprinting and pushing to the max, i'd say your fitness levels have room for a lot of improvement.

It all depends how much effort you want to put into it. You could always join a gym or join a club which offers a sport you enjoy.

Or else gradually build up the distance you run. If you can run 1 mile then try and add a little distance each time you go out and gradually build it up. To get real benefit from jogging i'd say you'd need to be jogging for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week, if not more. Once you can do this you could try and increase your speed.

It shouldn't be difficult to get a book which will show you exercises you can do at home.
 
Go to a gym. I don't really like water but when im at a gym the water there is free and I have quite a tiresome fitness regime, which makes me pretty exausted and always needing water. I end up drinking like a liter or more.
