hi

i am going to build a 2nd pc for gaming and surfing the net, i have a spare E5200, 22" 1680x1050 monitor, and HD4830 to use so just need to source the other parts

i am not putting a budget on this build, but do want to spend as little as is necessary :-)

hoping to have a nice pc that will handle COD:MW and the like both single player and online multiplyer

main reason for asking on the forum is for help with the motherboard

a basic board that will be stable and able to o/c the e5200 is what i am after

dont care about raid, sli or crossfire just a good reliable board

and psu, that confuses me also with cost varying from £20 to £100's, so help again will be appreciated

thanks
john

A 20 quid psu stands a good chance of failing, and a good chance of killing other components when it fails. A 100 quid one will last for years, run anything you plug into it and if it breaks, everything else will be unhurt.
50+ quid is fairly standard, but can go a bit cheaper with care.

Motherboard I'll leave to someone else, as I'm not so good at the budget end. The P5Q pro you already have one of is pretty nice :)

yeah, it was easy to buy the p5q pro as i wanted a really good board and the reviews were excellant
i am hoping to get a nice board now but for a little less, dont mind the loss of features as long as it can oc and will be stable

regards the psu, yes i agree, dont want to get a budget psu only to blow up and talke everything with it

are there any recommendations that would come in under $50 ? i dont think i need to go over 500w ?

for a mobo go for the x48 chipset (performance and ocing granted) but they cost a little more than your mobo. But I think its worth it. For a psu go for the OCZ stealth extreme 500w around 50 pounds
