Hi everyone, I've just sourced a used Live unit from Ebay to go with my
KDL-40EX713.

This TV supports all the usual formats 1080i 720p 1080p 24p etc.

What is the best output resolution to use with the Live box? Should I use 1080P 50hz or 1080P 60hz or 24p?

Or do I need to change the output depending on the type of film I am playing (NTSC/PAL DVDs)?

Thanks for any suggestions.

If most of your media is from Blurays ripped at native settings, then set the box to 1080p24. If the media is UK DVD rips, or converted Blurays, you would be better setting to 1080p50. If it is US DVD, then 1080p60.

I doubt you will notice too much difference whatever it is on.

If you feel so inclined and flash a custom firmware (wdlxtv is the one to go for) it has a lovely additional bit of software called autores which will do a nice job of switching the output depending on the video file you are playing. :)
