Gawd 'elp us! Whatever happened to the english language? If a sentence isn't punctuated with basically every two seconds, it's either 'at the end of the day', 'you know' or 'nah waat ah meeen'. James O'Brien on LBC sounds a siren and kicks callers off his phone-in if they say 'basically' more than twice. And rightly so! :D
I HATE it when someone starts off a sentence with 'Well basically' and then goes on to give a detailed account, lol.

"I turned around and said" is pretty annoying. I turned around to her and said and then she turned around to me and said.

At the end of the day, you understand what people are saying. Don't see the problem if im honest.

Kill everyone who uses "literally" as an emphasis word.

Example:

(For a person describing their experience on a rollercoaster).

"I literally **** myself!"

No you didn't. You mean you were afraid. You didn't literally poop your kegs.

I hate "absolutely" too when you get some mope on TV etc that will answer every single question with it because they are just waaay too important to use a simple, concise word like "yes". Really gets my goat. However in the context of something is "absolutely amazing" I think it's an excusable offence.

Annoys the hell out of me as well. The worst offender is without a doubt Bear Grylls. Named and shamed you bug eating parachute fairy.

Kyle has a lot to answer for..

And yet strangely having people saying "at the end of the day" repeatedly is among the most minor of charges that can be laid at his door.

I probably use most of the phrases that have been mentioned on occasion but I'd like to think I use them in context and vary my speech, noticing that I've slipped into a pattern of speech where I am repeating phrases bothers me.

Basically you are saying you are fed up with the way the English language is used

Without a doubt you are extremely fed up.

If I'm honest then I have to agree with you.

I mean when I listen to some peolpe speak I literally cringe at the way they contrsuct sentances.

Obviously this thread has far reaching possibilities.

At then end of the day though can we change them?
