Evening all,

I'm around the Basingstoke area tomorrow evening (June 13th). Does anyone want to come out and play?

Around 7pm?

I am intrested :)

Depends what the turnout is like because I will be coming from Soton.

Tis tempting... I might go car-hunting instead. Oo Ian, did you know I'm moving in three weeks? Need to go out for a drink before I go!

Sounds like a plan, next time you are on MSN give me a buzz or whatever :)

actually i'm guessing westy doesn't reallly know the area too well - i can suggest a bit of a weird loops that should be pretty fun, although not stricktly basingstoke it does start and finish there :)

head from b-stoke over to hook on the london road, throught hartley whitey on the odiham road (very nice stretch here), up bracknell lane, back on odiham road to riseley, spin round at roundabout just outside it and back down odiam road to hook, drink at the leather bottle and the m3 back to b-stoke (looks something like this: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=234362)

oh and it would be a shame not to do the churchill way(center of b-stoke)->m3 run, thats great fun :)

edit: looking at it, thats about 30miles worth of stuff, mainly national limited B roads, should be albe to do it in about 20min at a guess, so could extend upto Reading, across towards newbury and back down the a4-a340 which is a really nice road, IF theres no traffic infront - zero overtaking points :(

I'd have come, but I'm tied up all evening tonight rehearsing, booo! :(

That route you posted looks good, I've driven one or two bits of those roads before, but I'd bank on 45-50 minutes at the least for that 30 mile route... I don't think you'll be able to average 90mph down those B roads!

Route looks good Sam - who's up for it then?

Would have been up for this, I grew up driving on the Basingstoke ring road and roundabouts and I'm just down the road in Winchester.

But I'm at girlfriends mates birthday party in London to night.

Shame as I haven't been to a meet yet.

If all the maybe's in this thread went I'd be there. I grew up in Hartley Wintney so I know the roads quite well. I don't think I could really justify comeing up from Southampton if there were only a few people going though.

ci_Newman and I will be there in my Chevette. Possibly Chris's girlfriend too. Come on Ian, you know you want to come, we can go in convoy.

I would seeing as I live in Hook but I need the fuel to last me rest of the week. Actually, might just pop to Basingstoke to check out your GTi westy.

Where in Basinstoke are you meeting and when?

I finish work at 5...westy please text me the time and place of the meet in Basingstoke as I won't be able to access OcUK till after 5, ta.
