Bass problem-pls help

Hi,
I'm having a spot of bother with my bass. It's a Mordaunt-Short MS308 subwoofer.

When I try the speaker "test" It does not make a noise. Even when it is switched on and I plug a cable into it,it still does not make a noise. It normally does. When I switch the bass and the amp on yesterday it done the same thing. I had to mess about with the cables on the amp to get it working. When I switch the bass the light on the front comes on ok.

My amp is an Sony STR-DE695. The bass is plugged into the subwoofer pre-out on the amp. Is that right?

i dot quite follow your post - its lacking details.
but is the sub turned on under the amps menus???
most amps have a setting and it wont work unless thats on too.

There is a setting on the amp called SW on which is switched on.
