Hi all. I have a load of files which are dumped into a folder everyday. The filename consists of a text string, then the date and time the files were generated. I am not interested in the time and was wondering.. If it was possible to create a batch file that will rename every file within a folder, so it is only 20 characters long.. Thus eliminating the Time part of the file name. But the files will still be unique as the date is still there.

ps. it is not possible to change the filename on export to not include the time. Also the files do not have a .xls or .doc on the end so chopping off the end will not affect the file.

Thanks in advance.
