hey,

I'm looking to write a bacth file that will check a path that i decide for a certian dat file, if there promt the user to move or rename and then copy a file from another path to the same loaction but rename it in the process.

this is probley easy but i have no idea how,

any ideas?????

Not much help, but when you've written it make sure you spell check it!

ok sorted it.

With the help of the "if not exist" and "copy" command i've nailed it.
