Is there any way of batch resizing images in photoshop to a maximum dimension (such as max width/height of 600pix) instead of just a maximum height of 600 meaning the width could be a lot bigger if the image was longer? All the images are different dimensions and ratios so can't just seperate landscape and portrait.

Thanks

I can't think of a way...

The best way I reckon is to seperate them into "those with bigger widths than heights", and "those with bigger heights than widths". You can then run a different action for each set, one making it 600 wide, the other 600 high.

A pain, because you have to seperate them. Can't you just use thumbnail view in windows to figure it out? Too many probably.

Thanks, I thought that may be the case. :( There are 2-300 which is why I really wanted a batch process. I suppose it shouldn't take toooo long to seperate them out. :p

there was a way in a free program, irfanview I think. Having not tried it, I cannot speak of the resizing quality.

I, personally, have had some good results from Digital Photo Resizer. It's a doddle to use, and makes a separate directory, dumping the resized pics into there, as well as thumbnails if you want. Small fee, though ... 10 dollars if I remember.
