Barf for me & I live in Nottinghamshire ( allthough living in Essex for the first 33 years of my life might have somthing to do with it, anyway definately BARF ), and your right it is grim up north !!

Have you been up north yet? You live in the south (ie, south of Sheffield)

Anywhere north of the watford gap is north ;)

I see geography isn't your strong point. The south starts at the top of the 'mid lands', ie, the bit that no-one wants. We don't want them jessies, you weirdos have them.

Oh well, I initially thought this thread would go nowhere and I was the only person who pondered such a question :)

Thanks to whoever created the poll.

May I recommend a closing date for the poll of Midnight Friday?

Good to see common sense prevail with BATH currently having 53.41% of the votes :)

Comparison fails...

How do you pronounce Cath, as in short for Catherine? It certainly isn't Carth, is it?

That's just standard northern dialect, however here's the kicker. How do you pronounce "Father"? :)

May I recommend a closing date for the poll of Midnight Friday?

Sure you can, however it's pretty pointless so I'm not going to put it in place :p

For any southerner the Watford Gap holds true as Dal says, they are all thilthy northerners above Watford Gap. The midlands is like a transitional no mans land to the real oop north but its all oop north to us.

You mean berry? :p

And this thread is pointless. People pronounce many, many words differently, that's not news. All depends where you're from, there is no right/wrong.

Oh, and It's clearly bath. :D
