so currently we have this god awful light that you pull the sting, and it turn it on, pull it again and it turn the light off but turns a heat ring on, pull it again and the light and the ring are on, then a 4th time to turn it off. I want rid of this so want to install an extractor and some a nicer light or (lights) an suggestion and how hard is it to get rid of this bloodly light unit with the heater element.

thanks in advance

Nope nothing, all the switchgear etc is contained in the fitting itself.
If you've removed a standard ceiling rose before then you can do this :)

Just incase... not sure if your having trouble using the fitting or just want to swap it

You should have a normal pullcord for the bathroom light and a pullcord on the heater fitting itself, if you only want the light then set the heater pullcord to light only and just use the normal pullcord to switch on and off etc

ah this might explain the broken other cord in the bathroom.
