Right so I'm at the start of arkham asylum, harley quin just "dropped a elevator on me".

So far, I don't think the game is worthy of all the praise it gets, why are there gargoyles all over the place...seems weird.

Does it get better, do you leave the asylum as I'm finding it quite dull.

Thanks

Personally I completed it, so I liked it. I can't say if u will. There is an extensive outdoor area but u don't go to gotham city, the next game is arkham city I believe, a bit of a change of scene.

Well, taste defers!
I think it is a brilliant game, but it was hard to play with keyboard and mouse.
Once I connected the XBOX360 controller to PC it came alive! So addictive and wanted to do a unique special move on every bad guy.

I've asked myself the same questions about games like Bad Company 2 before and sadly, the answer was no. It's all about opinion to be honest. I say play it to around the half way point, play it if you like it and leave it if you don't :).

The only thing I didn't like about it was the way you had to use the same technique to defeat all the big guys.

There is one boss battle in particular that I loved as it brought back some of the old style platformer greatness.

The fighting is good as you can use some skill/moves and not just rely on button bashing.

It does get more interesting once you get outside I think.

And the graphical style with the graffiti etc. is just lovely.

It's the combat that shines in the game, it's all about picking the right targets and chaining the right moves together to build up your combos. The combat gets much better as you progress through the game, when you are introduced to new types of enemies and unlock new moves you can use to chain your combos.

Give it a few hours of play before you knock it, the story is pretty good and there are plenty of things to find, secrets and riddles that you might well enjoy as they give you more insight into the characters and what goes on in the asylum.

Ultimately though the combat is what makes the game so good, so if you don't start enjoying it after giving it a few more hours then the game is probably not for you.
