Batman Arkham Asylum 2

Not the most concrete of sources but Play have this down as an early June release, FAR to quick a turn around IMO. Will be more like Batman 1.5 rather than a true sequel :(

Id guess thats just a placement date for themselves internally when they dont have a date themselves - GT5 is a good example where the online sites just kept making dates up when the publisher hadnt officially given a date.

Boo! Didn't want it set in the asylum again. :(

The thread title is misleading. In the video linked the mayhem of the Joker and his goons/cronies has clearly spilled out into Gotham.

There are also hints at Twoface and The Penguin/possibly Mr Freeze for those wanting new characters.

I was shocked to see a video out so soon (surprised there isn't a boycott group like there was with L4D2 yet!) but provided they put the attention to detail and general awesomeness of the first game into this, it is a cast-iron pre-order for release day.

I just hope they dont mess around with it too much, the controls and game play was brilliant on the first just add a few more gadgets/equipment, moves and it should be a winner.

Super villains Two-Face and Mr Freeze have reportedly been confirmed to appear in the "really, really dark" Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.

Voice actor Kevin Conroy, who played Batman in the first game, recently revealed some details about Rocksteady's action sequel, reports Comic Book Resources.

Speaking on a panel at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo over the weekend, Conroy claimed that the new game will adopt a similar tone to animated movie Batman Beyond: The Return Of The Joker.

"It's really, really dark. It involves a lot of the villains and it goes to that area - it's that dark," he said, before letting slip that Two-Face AKA Harvey Dent will feature in the sequel.

"There's a very complicated cast. A lot of villains are in it. I'll just leave it at that!" he added.

In a Geekcastradio podcast, actor Maurice LaMarche claimed that he will be playing the Mr Freeze character in Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.

When asked what the villain will sound like, LaMarche said: "To tell you the truth, I think, contractually, I can't. I've got to keep it under wraps.

"He's out for blood right now because, er... I can't tell you the situation. But he's actually somewhat a sympathetic character within the framework of the game."

Writing on Twitter, actress Stana Katic revealed that she will portray Talia al Ghul in the sequel, daughter of Ra al Ghul.

"Just recorded a character voice on the next Batman video game. Never did that before. Helpful hint: plenty of water and pineapple slices," she said.

"For those who were asking: I'm voicing Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins)."

Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 is being developed for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but a release window has not yet been announced.

sweet! The above information is interesting.

Loved the first game, Probably one of the only games that i actually played all the way through last year.

I played the original to death over the course of a week last year... managed all achievements bar 2 of the combat trials...

Looking forward to this.. especially if its as dark as they are making out :)

Yeah I loved the fact that the game is going to be even darker then the first!
I just hope that they dont screw around with the game too much as it was almost perfect imo.

Only just played the first game, really enjoyed it and looking forward to the sequel.

MINOR SPOILER FOR FIRST GAME

...letting slip that Two-Face AKA Harvey Dent will feature in the sequel......

Far from "letting it slip" I figured this was a given due to him being mentioned doing a job in a radio announcement at the end of Arkham Asylum.

this was the ONLY game i have played all the way through for years, i loved it, cant wait for the sequel :D

and this type of game never interested me before.

surprised there isn't a boycott group like there was with L4D2 yet!

I'm not. Batman is a single player game that lasts for maybe 20hours if you are slow. L4D in theory should last for ages and ages seen as there isn't a story line to it, it is just kill zombies and more zombies. Therefore L4D2 is basically just L4D with extras, or at least that is how it was viewed when it was announced. A sequel to Batman means a whole new story, new characters, and a new location by the sounds of things so it will feel like a whole new game, rather than something that could be released as DLC.
