Batman: Arkham Origins will feature GPU PhysX effects

Yeah but its really crap performance, even with Ivy / Haswell clocked at 4.5ghz it will bottleneck a 7870 to death.

Although we don't know about this new and improved PhysX 3.0, which could be a major pushing force for PhysX adoption as a standard, but the likelihood of it all being kosher is pretty nil, it's a shame, as PhysX CAN be good.

I edited my post, you should always wait a few minutes with me :D

I can't see Nvidia improving PhysX on the CPU, I think they have other plans, see edit.

PhysX software will be on the consoles, that runs on the CPU but perfectly fine, same as current consoles. So it'll scale like it does now (Such as Low/High/Medium IQ settings) so won't exactly need separate coding, it'll be running pretty much the same PhysX version too with it being X86, just lacking the hardware accelerated stuff.

But hardware accelerated, unless they dramatically change it, will always pretty much be on Nvidia GPU's.

So yeah, I mainly agree.

When you see the wolves hair in the Witcher 3, that does get me excited, the same as TressFX looked good. These little things make a game that little bit special for me and more of it please.

Does anyone here know just how PhysX is being implemented on the next gen consoles?

No is the answer to that so how's about we wait and see before starting another bunfight.

It'll be software, if it's hardware accelerated I'll fist myself.

Given the consoles are X86 and running GPU's that for all extents and purposes are 7XXX as we have in our PC's now, if hardware acceleration of PhysX worked, there's literally, and I mean literally no reason why they couldn't make it work on AMD cards now easily.

I'd love for them to do that, it'd create a standard, all these subtle effects we get in games as card sellers, we'd get as standard, wouldn't that be nice? Of course it would.

Official Physx support for the PS4 was announced ages ago.

Smart Alec.

Doesn't mean a great deal.

Yes, it does. Which you'll prove by not elaborating.

PhysX currently works in phone games, and on current consoles.
It means it'll run in software mode, not hardware accelerated (And I'll fist myself if the next gen consoles with AMD GPU's get hardware accelerated support)

So, PhysX support could just mean it runs in software mode, which is how it is now. But you need the hardware accelerated support to get the proper advanced physics stuff.

Haha, just got this from the link I quoted on the first post.

Both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are ones of the best games in the GPU PhysX pocket, so we hope that Arkham Origins will dissapoint us as well.

:D:D:D
