Who remembers watching this awesome cartoon?

I have just purchased the dvds and have been giving them a watch, and they are so good! While the story lines are merely adequate the whole design and look of the show is excellent.

I like the fact they use black, shadows and just large chunks of colour. It reminds me of some comic books.
I hope they make a new one, same in style but more adult.

I used to watch it when i was a kid. I was very naive then.

I always used to think that "To be continued..." meant it will be repeated tomorrow.

Cause it always was!

Didn't like it. No eyes when wearing the mask and always looked fat/big. Same kinda thing with other crap toon versions of these superheroes of this style. Like superman.

If it was made like xmen the original cartoon or spiderman tas, then i think it would have been nicer to watch.

storyline wise it wasnt close to xmen or spiderman, but style wise it was much better.

A bit o/t which cartoon did you prefer out of Spiderman and X-Men. Mine is X-men but spiderman had some awesome story arcs

Watching X-Men and Spiderman back now is painful where as Batman still has that dark edge that made it good to begin with. Animation was better than both of them too.

Some of the individual Batman: TAS episodes had stories that were much more clever and emotionally involving than anything in the X-Men and Spiderman cartoons. It didn't have the lengthy story arcs, but I'd take episodes like "Heart of Ice" over anything those other cartoons had to offer. I also find that it's the only one of those cartoons that's still watchable.

I had 'The Mask of the Phantasm' on VHS ages ago!... plus a few Video box sets... must get round to getting em on DVD!...

um which version of batman are you on about I can think of atleast 3 different animated series

This was ace, visually it's easily the best Batman has ever been in my eyes, only the new movies are getting there. That's my opinion tho...obviously.

For reference they're releasing a boxed set of all 4 series later this year in the US.

Also I have the first 3 series and even tho they say R1, if you check on AnyDVD it says they're actually R2 as well! Discovered this about quite a few non-R2 discs :)

I loved Marc Hammil as the Joker!... His Voice and Laugh were just perfect!... Heath Ledger nearly got it in the Movie!!
