Does anyone know what size of battery this LED reading light takes? The battery would seem to need to be about 18mm long but cylindrical rather than button shaped. Any ideas?

Maybe do a search on the model number of the lamp?

You'd expect some sort of marking on the cover or something.

Maybe, but given the shape they would need to be very small button batteries, and it would need a lot of them. It looks more like it's one cylindrical battery, but I could be wrong. I've been told the reading light was originally bought in BHS a few years back, if that helps.

You're not the only one I got mine out my camera to check (measure) I suspected it as well.

Wasn't supposed to sound like I was having a go sorry.

Duracell 123 Battery? Most commonly found in Film Cameras

Good shout, but look at the dimensions it's too big.

Solution: Buy a new light.

This seems to be the best advice so far! The reading light isn't mine, I was just asked to help find a battery for it. When Googling there were quite a few results for rechargeable LED reading lights. Seems like the best option TBH.

Sorry mate. The only remotely close one I found the 16mm one was £20

Had another look but 17-20 seems to be a black area for battery sizes.
