Battery help

Hi, need a bit of help. My laptop wont power on unless I have the charger plugged in and switched on. It works fine plugged in with no battery so would I just need to replace that or could it still be the charger?

It's a MSI GT60 2PC.

Edit: Put battery in with charger and I don't the charging light doesn't come on.

Hi there.

How old is the laptop and do you know if it is still under warranty. Given the model number I think it maybe just past the 2 year warranty period.

Purchased 12th July 2014. I registered it on the Msi website which says standard warranty plus 3 months. I'm guessing that's 12 months + 3 months, not 2 years + 3 months.

batteries are normally only 1 yr warranty
